Darrow's guess (he/she said guess) is correct, it is definitely a broken stalagmite, made of Calcite, from a limestone cave. I'm sure it is a stalagmite (grows upward from the cave's floor), rather than a stalactite (grows downward from the cave's ceiling), because of the "cave-coral" nodules which got deposited on its exterior when a long-lasting pool of mineral-rich water formed on the cave's floor. I'm sure because I've seen hundreds of stalagmites and stalactites and cave-coral up close and personal when I was a spelunker (cave explorer) and a Geology Minor back in college.
