Checked this out up NW of La Garita CO. Old gold mining operation where they leached the gold out with cyanide. Read one of those RV camper reviews where they said it was a great place to look for crystals. When I went down on the lower road to walk in to the pit, lotta signs sayin 'Keep Out, Active Mining Operation'. Pretty sure it ain't been active in a while, but I respected the signs. I see a lot of crystals in other areas, but the only one I spotted here was across the road from this pit.
