Re: Crown Button HELP

Sorry I can't help with an ID but I keep thinking of those Crown Checkers I had as a kid. Nice find.

Re: Crown Button HELP

Can't make out anything to much rust. :'(

Re: Crown Button HELP

If there is rust on the button, it makes me think of it as a newer button. I can't pick a time period without checking the reverse. The early buttons like from the 1700 and early 1800's were made of metals like pewter or a type of white metal. Brass and copper were also used. Is the shank still intact?

Re: Crown Button HELP

No Sir the shank is gone.

Hi, Jim—

It's a Crown brand work clothes (overalls) button from the early 1900's. There are several varieties: some have the word Crown; others, Crown Overall.
