Crown Button HELP - SOLVED

[Silver Dollar]

I found this button at a 1800's site. It has a picture of a crown on it plus say's crown on it. Can anyone help ID it.

Sorry I can't help with an ID but I keep thinking of those Crown Checkers I had as a kid. Nice find.

Can't make out anything to much rust.

If there is rust on the button, it makes me think of it as a newer button. I can't pick a time period without checking the reverse. The early buttons like from the 1700 and early 1800's were made of metals like pewter or a type of white metal. Brass and copper were also used. Is the shank still intact?

Hi, Jim—

It's a Crown brand work clothes (overalls) button from the early 1900's. There are several varieties: some have the word Crown; others, Crown Overall.
