I found two of these in close proximity in a baseball field, I've gotten things as old a musket balls to the present day. It is across from a church. They seem to be a lead alloy, with a iron rod or attachment on the bottom. They must have been on the top of something. They also seem to be cast

I agree with Brady, they look small for a fence post top. Could be a bishop from a chess set, but why are only the bishops found? Possibly a bottle stopper for holy water?

They're made of lead, and I've never seen lead fence post toppers. Also, they are far too small and delicate for such work, not to mention they were found smack dab in the middle of the field. I also think they are too big to be part of a chess set either, they are pretty heavy

I'm thinking they are cemetery fence finials. There may be a family cemetery in the field.

I found a cemetery on an old (early 1800's) local map last summer. I went looking for it and it is now a pasture. There is no evidence at all of the church or cemetery. I hope to gain permission to hunt the field.

They may have been attached to something stolen from the church and dumped after being broken. Take them to the church and ask. If it has a graveyard, they may be corner pieces from a small railing around a grave or something.
