Hi Folks,
I dug this plate in a tail run of a old spring at a long gone house site.
It is very thin stamped brass,It had a catch of some kind on the back,Any help as to
Who or what this came from, This house gave up many Civil War relic as well as coins
back to 1760's, It was left to rubble in the turn of the century (no trash!!!!)
Thanks. DD

Are there any signs of other markings on it? Or just the crossed rifles?

Hey there, Thanks for your post, No, There are no other markings, just where the hook/catch was located,
A hat plate works for me because it's so thin I can't think of any other use. Thanks,DD

The crossed rifles definately denote infantry. Where it was displayed is anybody's guess. Monty
