Creeks

I am going on my second hunt coming up and there is a creek that is near my house. I know ppl go here to fish on occasion but I am more curious to know if anyone has experience with creeks and if they seem to be a good location?

Mr. Meaner, I don't hunt creeks, but my friend on here "junkhunter" hunts them. I couldn't beleive it when I saw him in our town creeks detecting. Yes, he has found some stuff...............indianhead pennies, wheats, tokens, buttons, etc. He detects everything, I got to hand it to 'em, thats why they call him "junkhunter". Good luck...............Rich

Sounds like you are in PA?

If it's a natural creek it could be loaded with goodies. A close fresh water supply was essential for survival back in the day. Creeks also served as also navigation routes back in the day. Many an old coin has been found under and near old bridge crossing, sort of a wishing well location, if you will. And swimming holes, do a bit of research and see if there were any old swimming holes. :icon_thumleft:

if you have creeks behind old houses or near cellar holes - could be great
any that people swim or just sit in during the hot months are definitely going to produce
