Hello, :hello:

Some of you know I"m digging out my crawl space to put in new supports for my 1859 School house, home. :P So We removed 150 year old rock piles and 150 year old dirt. Here we are digging out 150 year old rock pile out and we find a memorial penny at the bottom, in fact. ??? The only thing i've been finding is Memorials I found 3 of them with my Machine. :icon_scratch: What the heck !! ??? So today I was under the house and digging and I saw a shinny. :o I think to myself "oooooh Shinny" and pick it up. :icon_thumleft: Its an old marble, I collected marbles here as a kid and I don't think its one of mine. :dontknow: I think its an older one, If anyone can date it that would be great. :notworthy: Here are some pictures, also pictured is a Music Box Key or a Grandfather clock key I Found at a hunted out ball-field on another hunt along with a 3 wheat pocket spill of corroded wheats. Not worth posting really in poor shape and can't even see anything. Anyway here are some pictures, enjoy !!

Keep @ it and HH !! :D ;D

Hey looked around a bit. Looks like a swirl. Again not a marble expert but ya. This one sold for 355$.

Second one is oxblood marble, could also be that.

That is one sweet looking marble :icon_thumleft:
Try posting it in the marble section, peeps there really know their stuff. :headbang:

Not really much reason, or opportunity for things to be in a crawl space. Especially if it is that small.
Best chance around the entrance, and maybe off a bit from there, or around the backside of a post, if someone did mean to stash something.
A good place to search might be where repairs have been made to the plumbing over the years.
Perhaps where a floor furnace had once been ?

Of course all bets are off when kids are involved !

Good luck,
rmptr

nice pocket watch / grandfather clock winder/ music box key or possible water vavle type shut off key maybe

great looking marble :icon_thumleft: we used to call those type taffy pulls a prize marble next to a larger cats eye marble when a kid i had hundreds of marbles we played marble games in the city all the time i wish i still had those from the early 50,s

Hey Hey!! Something I can answer :)

Your marble was made by the Peltier Glass Company, which started up in the 1850's, but they only produced marbles between the early 1920's and the late 1960's hope that helps :)

Whoops! forgot to add that the marbles in the second photo posted by Daltonvz are made by the same company yours is.
In the first photo, the marble was made by a different company (the Christensen Agate Company)

How on Earth do you know that ?? ??? I'm not doubting you, but that's amazing you can do that. :o I want to learn... :help: :icon_scratch:

Marbles are always a cool find, found alot over the years of bottle digging and such, also fond memories of school yard marble games.Dont know the value of marbles but that is a great find K.KID. :icon_thumleft:

There are a few on here that are amazing at I.Ding marbles. Is there not a marble section down the list? :icon_scratch: Nice fun finds.

;D
Marbles are my first obsession, its really just a matter of handling and seeing the different types of marbles over and over.
The best way I can explain it is meeting identical twins; at first you really can't tell the difference between them, but after getting to know them, you start to notice small nuances, difference in personality and such. It's that way with marbles, the different swirl patterns, cut marks and colors specific to companies. kinda corny, but that's me :)
