Hello All,

Knowing Rodeo Recon's tendency to dig up some weird targets, I thought I'd post a couple from the Iron Brigade Vaults today. This one is weird.

Any ideas?

Re: Crank Siren? Wierd Find.

Looks like a 12 volt stock car horn with wire connection and the bracket.

Is that a crank? It looks like the electrtical connection.

At least from a 1960's or earlier model. Cadillac would be my guess. Now in the spelling department, I was always told that it was; I before E except after C, except as in the word; Weird....... Not knocking spelling in here, just making fun of our language. No wonder it is the hardest in the world to learn. ;D

P.S.--I'm the grammar and spelling Nazi. It's certainly o.k. to give me a dose of my own medicine.

You should have capitalized the acronym OK and without periods? Just saying... I dunno.

6 volt electric car horn (auto electrical systems switched from 6 to 12 volt about the mid 50`s),.

scroll down just shy of half way, almost identical horn that was most likely generic.
(built by a company that supplied Chrysler/GM etc)

Holy crap... nice work!

Thank you Sir, nice to be able to "play" once and awhile vs sitting on the bench.

I see this misuse of this particular word more often than not, your, when it's supposed to be you're. The internet has created its own monster. The less key strokes the better, I guess....... :tongue3:

These horns were made in 6 volt and 12 volt as well. I had a similar horn on my Dodge Truck. I guess I was too lazy to search for a picture. Good work Blacksheep.

It's all good, as long as it gets ID'ed. Thank you so much for your help with the ID, BigCy--I had no idea it was even a car horn!

Buckleboy must be a youngster ;D or never looked under the hood of a vehicle, of course nowadays, it is very difficult to locate the horn. You almost have to stick your head under the hood and have a friend blow the horn for you, whilst you look for it ( noisy proposition indeed ) :icon_jokercolor:

I am pretty young, but I've not seen a horn like that on any car I've ever driven. But I have restored a Model T car horn to working condition. (It looked nothing like that one...)

Cheers,
