You know the story, a major local park seems like a lost cause after years of being detected. Although, I occasionally had found wheats and some older relics there, I had never spent much time detecting this park. Well, a few nights ago I put on the 8x6 coil and went there for a quick hunt. I only dug 6 or so coins. Once home, I started rinsing off the coins and discovered one was a Barber dime! Between getting dark when I dug it and it being so crusty and dirty it didn't look like silver coming out of the ground.

I was able to go back the next day for few hours and managed 2 more silver dimes, a Roise and a Merc. Finally this morning (after spending an hour and a half and only digging two Memorial pennies) I dug another Merc.

Its only the second Barber dime I have dug and its kinda rough but I'll take it :icon_thumright:

Still looking for a Barber quarter..... :dontknow:

I soaked the 19 tag in vinegar to remove the rusty rivets and hammered it flat.

tell ya no place is hunted out with new technology and dirt moving around ya never know. way to go

Nice finds. I like the silver and nice job on cleaning up the tag.

Very nice old coin shooting, congratulations! :icon_thumleft:

Nice job, sounds like you found the winning combo

Nothing is ever hunted out. I spent two years in my own 60 x 80 backyard and dug over 200 coins. Persistence pays off.

Looks like some nice finds Squirrel. That General motors token looks like a Pontiac "Chief of the sixes" token. Like the Barber also.
