CPC Award Lapel Pin <<Age & Worth>>

This belongs to a friend of mine whose great-aunt was a sales rep. for CPC (California Perfume Company) which is now know as Avon.
What he does not know is how old it is and what the karat of gold that it would be.
It says "Solid Gold" on the back of it and we are not sure if it is 24K or what. I did a Google on CPC and the it dates between 1925-1929.

Not sure if the photo in the link has blue enamel on it as I did not see any remaining enamel on the one he has. Here are the pics of the one he has. Any information would be great.

Best source for CPC items ....

Been to the link you provided, but hoping that someone here may have a bit more knowledge or an Avon Collectibles book that may help out even more. Just thought I would post and ask. I've been lurking here for quite awhile and know that there are some pretty knowledgeable people here on the forum, including yourself.

I dont know why it would say Solid gold.....and if it is then you have a real rarity

Here is a collectors forum......I would try to post it there......I have a good friend who is a Avon rep and she says it will be worth a mint .....She has a book and is going to look it up.....

I would greatly appreciate this very much. My friend is interested in putting it up on Ebay and being that we have no idea of worth I thought of just asking around.

Ok...She had a book of Avon Collectibles from 1988.....the pin is listed in there at 175.00

Given after first order


Then there was an identical one ,just a tad smaller given in 1910 when you had an order of 250.00 .......that one was also at 175.00

I also sent a email to that CPC forum and am asking there......
Dont sell it yet

I find sometimes that it all depends on the wording when doing a internet search.

Barnes and Noble said that Hastin's Encyclo. is out of print, but the newest one will be in on Dec. 15th. I'll have it set aside for a peek and get back to you--if I my memory cells can hang on.
