Hey guys,
Nothing too dramatic here, my sons first day of summer vacation started today so I took him to a park/ballfield and found the typical park clad SAM_1228.JPG but got a few finds that surprised me from a public place, 3 wheats and a NJ/PA bridge token, no idea on the dateSAM_1223.JPG plus this heavy brass item that was about 4 inches down and screamed mid eighties on my atpro, any ideas??SAM_1226.JPG
as always, thanks for looking and HH!!

Great finds - but the best part is building memories with your son! Thanks for sharing...

Man, that brass piece looks real familiar. It's not threaded at the bottom opening, is it?

I found out its a clothesline tightener

Yep, that explains it!

Thanks, that was gonna bother me.

those things were used even in the military, to tighten things using rope, a form of quick release. nice finds

Ahhh heck yeah! Father/son sharing some time together detecting! Awesome!

Also glad to see you went to the park to do it, I was going to suggest leaving your yard for your own little personal hunting grounds. Save that as a place you can go ANY-time! It'll come in handy when all other places are too tough to do.

WTG!

Yeah that's what I figured. My yard needs some effort though. Alot and I mean LOT of iron, my vdi is constantly in the mid 20s throughout alot of the yard, I dug 5 nails out of one hole

I'd take a section of the yard and just clean it over and over. Until you don't get any signals. Don't try to do it all at once.

The brass thing ya found is a cloths line tightener.. Nice finds with your son...

Cjon went to a park?!? What? I hope the world isn't in danger, lol. Did you and your son each detect? You should bring him along with us sometime. I know you said he was shy, but it would be nice to give him the opportunity to find something good. Wait...what am I saying? Then I'd get embarrassed and humiliated by TWO of you, lol.

Great quality times with your son, can't beat that. If you want I'll come clean out that yard of yours, lol

Well Cjon & Son. Congrats on the finds. You never know what will pop up at a park.
Don't take Dave there, he may scare away the kids. :laughing7:

yes dave, I hit a park lol, come to think of it, I kinda got dizzy and delirious during my park hunt, must be the public place getting to me, that or the scorching inferno mother nature provided. either way it was fun with my little guy, (my 7 yr old was with me) and we found a couple neat things and he got to work the pinpointer too. A future MD'er in training lol
