Hit the dry sand for 5 1/2 hrs and other than the usual 10-11 coins/hr came away with 3 interesting items. Several are Firsts for me since owning the CTX 3030 for about 13 months.
Early in my hunt I found a silver (.925) Whale charm (3.02g, 12:32 on CTX 3030). Even the wife likes it and its a keeper, so says the wife. It seems that most of the small silver I find with the CTX 3030 is in the 12:29-34 range.
The next item is a small pinky ring or child's ring (1.28g, prob silver platted copper)) that rang-in at 12:37 - the same as a zinc cent. This is the first keeper at 12:37 I have found in 13 months other than zinc cents. Junk at 12:37 is almost always foil or the like.
The 3rd item is; well, I don't know. Some kind of tube. You tell me.
It measures 1 1/4" x 3/8" and has about a 1/8" hole thru the middle. At 1.5g, I believe it to be aluminum. The tube has some engravings/impressions and rings-in at 12:01 - and this is the first keeper I have found at 12:01 on the CTX 3030. EVERYTHING I have found at 12:01, previously, and I do mean 100s of targets, have been the lightest and smallest pieces of foil or the like. I actually wince when the display says "12:01" and it says 12:01 a lot. I'd screen it out but know deep down that there are some real treasures at 12:01 including diamond studded ear rings, gold chains with small links, small gold rings and now, apparently, tubes.
As for the tube, someone suggested that it was part of a necklace that broke-up. Another suggestion was that it was a joint holder...and I don't think she meant a place to hang out. If so, appears unused. A whistle? It is a whale of a question.
