Another one of my fields opened up on Wednesday and I decided to hit it after work. The bean stubble was quite high but I managed to work it pretty good for what I could. The first coin of the day was the 1859 Fatty Indian. This is the best conditioned fatty I found found by far and requires no other cleaning surprisingly. The second coin was a first for me. It is either a 1866 or 1867 Shield Nickel W/Rays. It is pretty cooked but still a keeper in my book.

Thursday - Were not gonna go there.

I noticed on Wednesday the farmers cutting one of my other fields. I got out there today side by side with the tractor sewing wheat in the field. The farmer was super cool and was giving me a thumbs up every time he seen me pull my video camera out. The first find was the neat old trigger guard. Then came the big brass piece in the upper left of the picture. I first thought a piece of a spur but not sure. This soil was super sandy and the Copper and brass came out amazing. I ended up finding an 1850 and 1853 Large Cent. I didn't even need to wipe them off to see the date. That puts me at 16 Large Cents on the year, so I need 16 more to beat last years totals. HH everyone!!!

PS. If anyone can I.D. the Trigger Guard and/or the long brass Item I would appreciate it

Great coins, love the patina!

Very nice condition on the coppers.
The bell too is a nice find.

Nice finds... Just got a few myself, know the feeling....HH

Some really nice coins in amzing condition. I am not sure what you a calling the trigger guard but I am seeing a finger loop for a candle stick holder, at least that is what I think I am seeing. Please post a better pic of it and I am sure we can come up with a positive ID.

Great finds, I'm still looking for a largie after 15 years, one day, anyway HH

I think that large pc. was to a shotgun back by the breech where it connects with the stock.

Wow....... that is just awesome. Been a LOOOOOOOONG time since I got a big copper. Congrats:icon_thumleft:

That would make sense. I did find a bunch of old shotgun shells at the site.

I posted that same piece that looked like a trigger guard a few weeks ago and someone posted a pic of a candle stick holder a perfect match, nice finds

Nice work on the coins and relics! Looks like you have a Civil War eagle button too. I also love the bell, I have dug two or three of those in the past.

16 Large Cents in a year is a crazy good number, and all the coins on your last hunt look great.
