We went out today and found a few coins; couple of new pennies and an 1900's Victorian penny but there were a couple of strange items that came out.

The first being a funny lead shape, I have no idea what this is but if anyone knows anything about it before I throw it out please let me know.

And the second being a lead token or badge/medal of some kind. It has a crossed rope knot which is the Staffordshire emblem and laurel wreath around the outside. I can also make out "Wick" at the top right hand side of the item. This may be the end of "Warwick". I have searched online and cant find anything similar to this. Maybe it is a helmet badge, police badge or military item but we are unsure.

Looks like an early Staffey Military Button, can you see a scar where the shank was?

Yes, this is what it is after looking on Google, although I cant find an exact match so it must be early. This is quite big, bigger than a 50 pence piece.

not too big to be a button, which I'm 90% sure. Early-mid 19th C.

Thanks for the ID, happy with the button. We have contacted Staffordshire Regiment Museum to see if they are interested in it.
