Found these two objects and don't quite know what they are. I've found objects in this field dating from the Civil War to the 1940s. Both are probably copper, though the smaller one might be brass. My wife thinks that the smaller one might be a curtain rod end. It reminds me of a louver window crank, though I haven't seen one like it. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks, Quicksilver. You could be right, although, at 2.72 ounces, it seems a bit substantial for that. Also, I don't know the purpose of the hole and channel that goes from the edge to the center. Do you think it could be for oil/grease to lubricate a turning motion?

I suggested that the object on the left might be a window crank. But, if it is, it's poorly designed because the walls are quite thin and wouldn't stand up to much torque. The other thought that occurred is that it might be part of a nozzle off some piece of farm equipment.

Anyway, thanks for looking at them.

The one pic looks like the inside of a faucet. Looks like the seat and a piece that may have been twisted off.
