Stretched the perimeter of my 1800's home site. One area has a 1900's dump site mixed in. Best bit was finding another section of a 1700's shoe buckle. One more corner and I'll have the whole buckle.
The small silver piece to the left of the bottle is also interesting, I think it is a fragment of a pewter spoon. Most of the flatware I find is silver plated brass, pewter seems unusual.
Actually both of the complete spoons are "nickel silver" which contain no silver, but I understand it was a way to create a silver look. I wonder if I soak them in white vinegar and salt they will turn silver (like an old nickel)?
Good luck out there!
