finally got to do some digging.
I have been wanting to find the privy site here at my house so I got ole hillbilly involved and we probed and found one. it turned out to be probably the newest pit so the finds wasn't what we was hoping for, but did retrieve a few bottles, marbles and a old radio antenna insulator. We probed abit more but didn't find the other pits yet so hopefully with some given time I will find them.

I did some metal detecting at a couple sites and ended up with pretty decent finds. I found a couple of lead seals and one showing a animal figure with the scout symbol faintly on it. I have never seen something like that on lead?
Another interesting find is the copper heart that is only 7/16 of an inch with the complete Lords pray written on it.This was found at a early homesite.
The ink stamp is really cool and proved some research I have been working on, so that might turn out very interesting soon on my next visit. I also found a apothecary weight, stirrup piece, marbles, flat buttons e.t.c.
It's great to get out and save some History and with being off work for a couple weeks, I hope to make the best of it.

Bill

You saved a bunch of history Bill!! Great finds. Did Hillbilly make you buy his lunch this time?-LOL. Good job gentlemen, Quindy.

Cool digs

I've never had the opportunity to dig a privy but it sure looks like fun to do!

I really like that embossing disc. . . it might have been their corporate document seal.

(I reversed the image so you can read it more clearly. . . hope you don't mind)

We didn't find the older stuff yet, but this time was fun and educating. I will make a youtube video of the next Pit dig. Thanks for flipping the pic, I forgot to do it.
