Couple Buttons

Found these at my 1813 house MDing. The one on the right says ORANGE COLOUR? Are these buttons old? And are they made of copper as both are green?

Nice finds Catherine. Both of those are early 1800s flat buttons and are common finds from that time period. They could be of British or American manufacture. Hopefully you can find some coins from that time period as well. Good luck!
