So I scouted a couple areas last week and got off work early enough to hit both of them today, and it turned out to be perfect weather for it!
I thought for sure they would be good as I heard stories of my great uncle pike fishing out there nearly every day in the 70s and the landings have been there well before then. BUT! Just a lot of clad, mostly pennies, oh yeah, and .22 shells, oh yeah and a ton of melted popcans! Well after a couple hours at the first landing I decided to go scout an area a schoolhouse used to stand around 1900ish, didn't find it but remembered I was close to one of my old party spots in the woods and I thought maybe I could pick up a ring or earing some drunk girl dropped. More clad of course... and .22 shells... and beer cans. Off to the final spot, a small walk in boat landing. 2 pennies and 5 .22 shells later. dark. Home I went! What a long day!
Well beside the clad and casings I managed one wheatie! 1940D. ONE! Thats a million times better than none in my book! Also my very first nickle, a 1964. I neverrrr find nickles. 66' quarter just missed it by a couple years.. Good day!
(Not pictured) The heaping MOUND of cans, shotgun shells and melted blobs of who knows what currently residing in my back seat.. HH!
