County Fair week

I participated at our small county fair. I won blue ribbons for catsup, hot sauce, chutney, banana bread and Best of Class for Single Crust Pie:
a 9” Genoa salami pizza. First pizza ever in this fair. The judge loved it. Lots of fun👍🏼

They hold a pie and baked good auction after the judging. It’s to raise money for operating capital for next year’s fair. My pizza sold for $65. I felt that was quite generous for a 9” pie. 😊 The charity of our bidders is a blessing to the community.
I’ll keep you in mind for a delivery, but it’s a long drive! 😂

How do you make catsup ?

How do you make catsup ?

1 qt. tomato purée
1/2 C sugar
1 C vinegar
2 tsp ground allspice
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp whole cloves

Combine all and cook on stove until thick (stir often). Strain out cloves.
Pack in clean jars and seal in a water bath.

The vinegar can be apple cider or white. It depends on your preference. The cider vinegar has a little less “zip” to it.

There wasn’t a specific pizza category. The category I entered was for: “Single Crust, other than named”.
I took poetic license and entered a pizza “pie”

Take her up on the delivery-she'll treat you in taking you out detecting in dirt that's 1000's of years old.
Now that's a tip that no pizza delivery guy would ever get over here.

I agree. One of those “hammered” coins would make a great delivery tip.😊
