Cant tell anything much on the back. Anyone know the thickness and size of Halfpennies?

looks like a colonial copper of some type. can you make out any of the letters around the bust? my first guess is maybe a connecticut copper?

I think you are right hollowpointred,but there is not enough there really to tell.

King George III it is, but, by its mentioned lack of thickness, the poor quality of the planchet, and the odds that if found in USA it is a counterfeit. The vast majority of King George III Halfpennies circulating in USA in the late 1700's into the 1800's were counterfeits. Most came from Britian and some made here, but the percentage of counterfeits is estimated 80-90% of all British coppers circulating in USA were some type of counterfeits. (Ref: Forgotten Coins of the North American Colonies by William Anton and Bruce Kesse)

My own survey of approximately 100 ground found King George III coppers shows 100% counterfeits. The King George III coppers were more counterfeited than King George II.

Thanks Crusader,and also a thanks to Don for the extra info. Glad I didnt throw it away. Almost did I was looking at it with the hole up but under closer examination I noticed the bust.

wvdrummer Hi there ! I found it in a house yard in Iowa. Just remembered I found another coinlike piece I thought was a Half dime at first in that yard. Hmmm.. not sure where it is but it was really rough.
