This is an interesting coin from todays hunt. A first I thought it was a grudded up George V 1923 silver florin. The more I cleaned it, the more coppery it became. There's just a bit of the silver wash remaining,, above the kings head. I've had much older counterfeit coins, but never one so modern. Just goes to show nothing changes, if there's money to be made, people will do it. :laughing7:

Interesting counterfeit coin.
This one looks like the real thing.

My dentist bought these in Chinatown, NYC, on the street. Thought he scored. Magnet will stick to both.

THAT FLOORED ME. NEET FIND

Had most periods up to & including the 19th C, but not seen any 20th C ones yet, so that is pretty cool.(I think)

That is one interesting find.

That's a pretty cool recovery thanks for sharing it Rob.

I had no idea they counterfitted coins that early. Very cool score and ID!
While ever there's been coins, there's been fakers. The oldest one I've got is James I. Also had this Charles I shilling awhile back, that is a fake.Robert.
