Had a good day out. A friend and I hit a field that has been producing. I found this 1759 Swedish 1 Ore, the Indian, and what I think is a counterfeit DB Large Cent (it rings in low -- pull tab range). My friend found this beautiful 1802 DB Large Cent.

I know that Don in SJ posted a thread years ago about collecting information about Swedish colonials and I added to that thread. I hope he sees it, or this, as I can't PM him for some reason.

Your friends drape bust is probably the best I've seen on here

With a reading like that it sounds like a counterfeit but the pic looks like a normal toasted copper. Strange. Excellent finds.

Great looking coppers and then there's the toasted one, strange how that work.

STAN YOUR THE MAN WITH THEM FINDS . DANG NICE ONES TOO ....

cool finds!

Yup, the color and corrosion of that LC do look odd. I'd take a counterfeit over a crusty LC any day, though. I'm still awaiting my first. Congrats on all of the great recoveries.

Nice finds. That field looks like it is pretty kind to coppers based on the Swedish coin, your friends DB, and the Indian. But your DB suffered a lot of ground action compared to the other coppers. That plus the low reading would certainly bring into question it's authenticity.
