I got out for a short while today found flake a bone handle and this. not sure about this 1. multi tool mabey. it does show some usage wear on the small appendage. yet I can see how it could be used as a scraper.
seems I am getting no response today so I will post the bone handle now just so there will be more to look at if someone actually wonders on to this thread.
Just saw your post here...Is this in "What is it" forum?...Or Todays Finds?...might get more reponses in those forums...That Said...I have several variations of your 1st pic...It is called a "Hook scraper"?..I will check the name for sure but when it has a "Hook" such as yours it is an artifact...just need to research the age and purpose of that one...Sorry I can't be more definitive on this one...The bone pics, really not a "bone" person...but the hole in it is really strange..ha possibly hung around the neck?
Hope you get more ideas from those who know more...MinerGirl
The bone is the humerus of a good-size bird. The hole is called a "pneumatic fossa," a natural feature. Most of the diagnostic parts of the bone are missing, so I won't hazard a guess as to species. I don't see any evidence that this is an artifact (other than the remains of a meal).
