✅ SOLVED Could this be a collar stud??

Dug this AM. Only idea I can come up with is a collar (stud) button but I may be way off. Came up as a copper signal. Neither end is threaded. IMG_0481.jpegAny help is greatly appreciated. Thanks for viewing!

Yes it was a nice sound. I’m just wondering for the most part if they come off of saddles, harnesses etc.
in my opinion yes, they were mainly used for horse tack but really anything leather with straps back in the day..happy hunting

It is a rivet and burr. Collar studs have two ends as well but with end smaller than the other (smaller knob poked through the starched shirt and was generally spherical; the other end was flat). White Ceramic ones can also be found, and the larger end on those often has a bullseye look to the reverse side, like concentric circles. Even when the sphere end is broken off. I’ve dug them in silver too, with and without monograms.
