I found this a couple weeks ago, if it is a coin I would have set a new personal record, two 200+ year old coins in one hunt :). I'm pretty hopeful. I was thinking it could be part of a shoe buckle but it is very thin. Is it something cool or just a random chunk of copper?

So what is it, a fragment of some colonial coin or a piece of garbage.

I swear I think I see some detail that a coin would have:)

I wish I could have made this a poll.

Broken coin or Random piece of copper?

Last photo shows "detail"

Also, It fits around the edge of a Colonial era British half penny.

Could it be a coin that was used as a washer in colonial construction? I found it near some old square rose-head nails.

Thanks guys, I think that it is a unanimous decision, copper washer! Thanks for the ID, even though this is not a coin I still love knowing what my finds are :)
