Could there be gold in here?

I was panning on my back yard and found a lot of gold looking material.. This came from 2-3 shovel loads of high clay soil.
I know most of it isn't gold, as some floated and larger sizes broke between my fingers.

Question is, could there be gold in there as well? Flakes are too small to hold.

Edit.. The more time I spent talking pics, the more I noticed I had to get the light to hit it just right to make most of it shimmer but will still post because you guys know way more than me.

I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard Dreco! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) so if you ask a question, etc. - people may have more success helping you (your location may help, etc.)...

See if you can separate out the black stuff with a magnet. Gary

Pick out a bigger piece and poke it with a pin. If it breaks, it is not gold. If it bends or dents, you might have gold. Looks like mica to me. Good Luck!

Welcome to TNet Most times if the gold disappears in the light it is gold...we call it fools gold because it fools us into thinking it is real.

Mica... That's what I thought it probably was as the larger pieces just crumbled..
Just wanted to keep the dream as long as possible lol.
Will take a needle to them once it's dry.
