hi forerunner i think you just have a rock there, with a natural break.artifacts are well made but keep looking

Artifact that looks like a first stage preform which is right after the core rock. HH!

I agree with cat small biface from what I can see ;)

Not just a rock! Its been worked for sure. Yew ever get down around Sunbury, I used to do pretty good there. also up around old Eberneezer .

It for sure has been worked, maybe it was to tough to knapp and they gave up. It's a keeper:icon_thumleft:

Well I'm going with just a rock.
That material looks really grainy and I think it just broke apart that way.. In the second photo where it looks like there's a worked edge there's actually a ridge of material hanging over what looks to be flakes removed that would be impossible

It's a tool of some sort but what type or what it was used for, is anybodys guess. It could have served many different purposes. Most of the time people are just speculating on how a tool was used. Unless you were there or have microscopic evidence showing on the tool, you can't be 100% sure.
Nice artifacts you are finding. Keep on searching and I'm sure you'll find some more keepers.

If it was a tool it would be a perforator. Still don't think so.

Its been worked on the one side where the wavy look is at. If it were bigger Id say a chopper but being it is small I believe it is a preform point. Its not finished but I find them also here in N GA in the fields. I always look for that wavy part. Nice find, rock
Ill show you a few found this yr to compare yours to.

Preform with a hump and a stack and snapped one end, all while working on it. Then started a new one. Wasn't gonna work out for what they wanted. Wasn't gonna thin out right or be the right length.... If you wanted to open a mussel with it or chop something, sure, but I bet you are on a site where you are finding chips. Chips?? Boom??

Yes, tons of chips

Definately worked. Found these types on a field I hunted in NC. The types were sorta pointed on each end. Had a flat side and the other side being humped. These were always direct percussion. I kinda always thought they might be associated with the Guilford types?.
