What year and mint mark is that Walking Liberty? It's the 2nd coin from the top in your hand

The Walking Liberty appears to be a 1942, and it really doesn't matter what the mintmark is...there's not much of a price difference between the mints for that date. Looks like it might be a 10-15 dollar coin though.

Why do you guys say use the "Redbook" ? Is that to make you feel good about a coin you have as far as value. No one will ever give you what the value is in the Redbook. Especially dealers. It's like this , a coin is worth only what someone will give you for it. Just being realistic.

red books are cheap and they show new collectors where to look for the mint marks. Coin prices are obsolete when they are printed BUT if a coin was common as cat dirt in 1976 it's still common as cat dirt. If it was the key coin then it's most likely the key coin now. Anyone can go to the mall and look up one coin at Barnes and Noble or Waldenbooks. If you don't have a mall try the local library. They would frown on you going in with a box of grubby coins and looking them all up. Many coin dealers have old copies of the red book that they sell very cheaply and some just give them away. siegfried schlagrule
