Got out for about 2hrs this afternoon in my neighbor's back yard. After finding all the goodies in my yard, I figured his may produce some nice finds. The first hit out popped this very thin and worn Winged Liberty Head beauty. After carefully wiping it, I saw the 191 and what looked like a 6. With great hope that the back would reveal a D and I could do a happy dance, I flipped it and it was almost completely worn. I took out my magnifying glass and the more I looked at it, the more it looked like a 1918. Oh but those few minutes on the ground thinking it was a 1916 D!!! I still cannot tell really what the last number is. Still a nice old Merc.

I also found this other obeject that is about the size and weight of a quarter. It has an edge like a coin as well. It is so burned, I cannot tell what it is either. Any suggestions?
