Hit this in an old NW Missouri ballfield at about 9". It's magnetic with a - scratch test, but still unsure. Had an "expert" look at it, and he wanted to cut a sample, but he said he had to take the rock home to do it (even though he had the equipment to do it at the rock & mineral show). Something didn't seem right with this offer.
I'm not overly concerned about whether it is or isn't a meteorite since my 12 yo has placed it in his rock & mineral collection as an "unknown."
