Could be a dime????

Found this today. It is the same size as a dime, but half the thickness. I think it is silver, but could be something else. I can bend it but it is hard to do. There is what appears to be a D in the upper right of the coin. Thanks for any help I get.

is it a hammered out half dime? if your machine has a meter, what does it read out at?

It read between 79 and 81 on my MXT. Thanks.

If that finish was peened onto it , it would make it thinner and larger after a while. so? Monty
