As we had such a terrible start to the harvest & its been so wet they had to stop halfway through, I decided to help a mate on a working holiday. 3 days work 2 days fishing the Seine in France. I did manage to catch what I aimed for - 110lb Catfish. (Hell of a fight on 70lb braid!)
Anyways whilst I was in France Cru'dad try to do some scouting on Brooch Field & Copse Field. He only got a few scrappies, hob-nail & brooch bits but enough to give it a go.
The ground has only been tickled & we really need a deep plough, but it is a best option at the moment.
Had to wait for the heavy rain to finish & then got wet in the lighter stuff for 3 hours;

6 Scrappies
1st C AD Brooch
Nob-Nail
Roman Locking Mech. Terminal
Cut Qurter Hammered Short-Cross

Cru'dad's best coin on his scouting was as follows;
''An unusual coin of Emperor Maximianus - Lyons Mint (PLG) AD 308-9 Genio Pop Rom with CI in left and H over S in the right fields (a one-off year field markings heralding a reduced weight for devaluing the Follis).''

Awesome!!!! Congrats!!!!!

Nice haul of stuff! It always amazes me that you can look at those old metal discs and tell they are coins, how old they are and who is on them! Well done!
That is the largest catfish I have ever seen. I am not too far from the Mississippi river and occasionally a 50 pound flathead catfish is landed. Congratulations on that one!
