Is there any way to clean up (not polish, just make "not dirty") a copper coin? I cleaned up some wheats tonight to stick in an album and they look fine when they're wet, I hit them with a toothbrush or sponge, but then as soon as they dry they look real hazy and murky again.

Any suggestions? I'm not looking to make them look brand new, but having them look like they're not covered in a tan layer of dirt would be nice.

lemon juice soak...but check every so often.

cheers

I use candle wax

I wondered about that. I did a few with mineral oil last night just to try but it's a pain in the butt. Any thoughts on a light coat of Vaseline? I had read about that too.
