Copper Umbrella?

Any ideas? Found at a goldmine but I don't think it has anything to do with the operation. Try to picture it as if it were not flattened. It should almost be an umbrella shape. For some reason it looks familiar to me but I cannot put my finger on it. Thanks for looking.

My grandfather had a clock with a Victorian lady holding a parasol. I wonder if this could be part of a similar clock. Wish I could find ya a pic.

Just to add my two cents I'd guess a flatten funnel....

What an interesting find
I figure if it was round, it would be about 2 and a half inches in diameter, at the widest point
It has hooks at each longer end of the 'scalloped ' bits
My guess is - the top of a lampshade

Hi, That's what I was starting to think of as a possibility - then I found this pic of a candle lantern.
How close is that top??
