Sure does look like an umbrella. Maybe it went to a small statue/figurine?

Maybe after a hard days work at the mine , the men would sit back in their camp chairs with a glass of their favorite grog - with shinny little umbrellas sticking out of them ?

My grandfather had a clock with a Victorian lady holding a parasol. I wonder if this could be part of a similar clock. Wish I could find ya a pic.

What an interesting find ???
I figure if it was round, it would be about 2 and a half inches in diameter, at the widest point
It has hooks at each longer end of the 'scalloped ' bits
My guess is - the top of a lampshade
