It's a match book cover that has been crushed , I found one similar before but not as destroyed . They were used to keep your matchbook straight and dry . If you could re-bend it to shape I see three sides that look like they'd if bent in the same direction (bottom side) towards the top (with the hole) I believe you'd see the shape . At one time it snapped closed . I can be exact with no photos of the hinged side but it might of had a spring to help keep it closed . I put my money on this being a Matchbook cover
It apperas to be copper, very thin with a cover that opens. Perhaps held a photo?? Semi round now but might have been flat. Any help would be appreciated.
