I've had this so long, I can't even remember where I got it. I may have found it in a dump (it's not dug)
Or, from a sale of a guy I know who owns his own dump in Detroit.

I've been meaning to post it here for the longest time, but I am a master procrastinator!

It's copper, I don't think it was a bell, but more like a fence post cover? I have no idea.
The design on the top is like a star of David. It has 2 holes on it's bottom sides.
Light weight, and has a tiny hoop on the top. But as you can see on the inside (I hope you can see)
the hoop doesn't go into the inside, like if it were a bell.

Any ideas?
Thank in advance :-)

End cap for a cane... or point stick... or the likes...

My guess .

part of a old manual door bell ? When you pulled a string and the bell was in the house

The small hole on the side is usually for a small nail I believe. What about something like a flag pole with the hole in the end for a topper? SWAGGing.

Could be a cap for an old mezuzah case which as lockster said probably had that hole for attaching to the wall on your doorstep.
