I pulled this out of the ground and have no idea what it is. What I do know is it's pretty much the same size as a quarter (It's just a micro hair larger) and it's paper thin, it has no markings on either side but it is copper. Open to any ideas because I have none. Thanks for all your help

Looks kind of like a penny after we would put them on the Rail road tracks before a train. Is the first thing that comes to mind.:dontknow:

Can you get any kind of detail when you look at it in the sun? Or under good light?

I used a jewelers loop with built in light and nothing smooth like a babies bottom

Another thing you could try. Is to weigh a penny that is dated before 82, and weigh the copper disk. If the weight is the same? It would be a good indicator that it may have started out as a penny.

Well I did the weight of a wheat penny and it was 3 grams so I did my disk and it was also 3 grams so I'm thinking its safe to say you would be correct in saying its a train penny. Thanks for all your help and ideas.
