I think the logo is HAH instead of HVH. I have no idea on what it is though.

Im going to take a wild guess that it could be the threaded top to an old liquor flask.

Is there any remains of cork inside?

I found one of these in Houston, Texas, so it is a mass-produced item. I cleaned mine with lemon juice, and discovered that it appears to be gold gilt over copper. I have had no luck tracking down the monogram. It may be part of an oil lamp, but that is only a guess.

A pic would be cool.

Same symbol here

First time poster :)

I found what looks like the same symbol on some sort of cap. It looks to be threaded on the inside.

Does any one recognize the manufacturers mark? HAH?

This item was found near a 1878 house.

It has a symbol in the middle HVH?

Its copper and it screwed on to something

The initials are read HHA. These are from the Harriet Hubbard Ayer cosmetic company. Although she is regarded as being the first woman to start a cosmetic company her name wasn't the actual name of her company, but rather her name was used shortly after her death in 1903. The company still exists, from what I've read.
Below is an example of the original cap, but I suspect it may have been used with other products as well: http://victorianfanguide.tumblr.com/post/31006899331/a-bottle-of-harriet-hubbard-ayers-moth-and
Updated, different product, same lid, showing the top of the cap as well; http://www.ebay.com/itm/Harriet-Hub.../390578283525?pt=Folk_Art&hash=item5af047a405
