I found this ring today very close to the paddlock in other topic. It looks like copper...are there copper rings?

Copper rings and bracelets used to be popular because of a myth that copper would cure arthritis and sore joints. That myth has been replaced by a new one regarding magnets. Yeah, I'm a cynic when it comes to these strange medical treatments.

I'm not trying to get your hopes up but there is a such thing as rose gold. Your ring could also be brass,I would have it tested to see exactly what the type of metal is.

Still a good find...

Not sure about the rose gold theory... With my limited knowledge of jewelry I cannot imagine that kind of setting in a gold ring. Also, is this picture after you cleaned it? Copper or brass would seem like good guesses with that amount of corrosion.

Either way, a ring is a ring is a ring. Nice find!

I only scrapped the dirt on it and washed it with water and soap. To me it looks copper, although it might be brass.

Copper and brass are used as base metals in electroplating. I have more than a few rings like that. Some still had plating on them until I tumbled them.

I don't think it's a myth that copper soothes the pain of arthritis. The copper bands they ware on joints tarnishes the skin, they rub it in and the swear by it. I think chelated copper is used for that and other ailments.
