Copper Pole Thing

I believe this piece is made of copper. It was dug in a part of town that is over two hundred years old. The head was about 4 inches deep with the metal pole that is 6 long. The pole has "Copperweld" on it. Maybe it is an old power line grounder? Or just an old Electric grounder? Any help would be great. Thanks

That is a grounding rod for lightening I believe.

Looks like a grounding clamp with pipe.

Copperweld Tubing company was founded in 1999 and is still in business.

Copperweld BiMettalics was founded in 1915.

I was thinking something like that. This find might be best going to the metal recyclers, its really heavy. Thanks guys
