Can anyone help identify this piece? It appears to be copper and ‘heavy’ in my hand and has two areas where it looks like it was fastened to iron. Found in a field on private property.

Thanks,

Can you provide a better lighting picture please. Thanks

What makes you believe it's copper?
Could be bronze.
For an ID nothing is firing at the moment.

Looks broken instead of melted.
Is the thickness the same throughout the piece?

Could be bronze, yes. Green patina. Agree on broken. Thickness the same throughout. 13 grams.

Could be leaded bronze and part of a bearing per the web. I would have to do a density calculation etc.
