I found this copper item at an old stagecoach stop (circa 1850s). Leaf pattern with raised circle with 13 stars and a hole in the middle. There is a pin at the top (raised circle on front side - first pic) that holds some sort of attachment mechanism on the reverse side it seems. I have no idea what it is - any help appreciated.

Ain't no clock with 13 stars ;D though it does look like one ...obviously something commemorating the 13 colonies....it's a VERY nice find, but I can't venture a guess as to what it might have been. Just wanted to say I liked it!

Looks like a decorative plate for something.Maybe the pull handle (plunger?) from an old pinball machine or one armed bandit (slot machine i think you call them)?

Clock part popped into my head too. It looks like a leaf. Does your camera have a macro lens setting for closeups?

Yes, let me get some closer shots here later today. thanks for all input. what came to my mind was a decorative plate for boots or some sort of firearm.
