Copper is down twenty percent since Aug. 1st I guess hoarding all my number one copper was not such a good idea!

It will! Gold and silver will go back up after the election, especially if Obama wins. His new taxes will drive alot of money into hiding.

snake, a question for ya. If we had to go to war with Russia over this Georgia thing, how fast could we get our rust belt factories up to running and who would we put on the smelter floor?

Commodities dropped as oil dropped. As soon as the election is over oil prices will rise. Obama has already stated about raising capital gains taxes. As well as doing away with tax cut for families of four who make over 48 thousand. What part of that is good for America?

snake, I have yet to see anywhere in his tax plan that he's gonna raise taxes on a family of four earning 48K a year. or that he's gonna raise the capital gains tax rate. I just looked thru his tax proposals and unless that stuff is in invisible ink, it don't exist.

capital gains will go up if Bush's tax cuts are not made permanent before 2010. the estate tax will also kick back in then.

I dunno how you can reasonably discuss scrap values and futures without talking economy and politics.
and considering the circumstances, religion too!

At least it better. I work in a copper mine LOL!!! It usually goes down around elections and union contract time and they are both coming up.
