copper disc found on Florida beach

So as title says, I found this round copper disc on the beach in Florida near Jupiter Inlet. The diameter of it is just over 2", and there's no detail I can see on it, other than the small hole near the top edge.

Great suggestion from ticndig.
My first thought was saddle decoration, but considering where you found it in 'hurricane country', an early warning system makes sense.

Many times things like that dont get an Id cause they could be so many things. Good to ask though
