Found this last night around my honey hole. Any ideas on price value? I have looked online and haven’t found any online that look like this. Thanks. :)

I would think it would probably have to be tested to verify mineral content (to ensure it's native unrefined copper) before a value could be assigned. Provenance is probably important as well.
Be interested to hear what the experts say.

You been wearing that thing? It's odd how the inner portion of metal is less oxidized than the layer under it.
I'd kind of expect it to all look the same after 5000-6000 years of weathering!

Here is some examples of Copper Culture artifacts.
The patina on those kind of make your ring look like a piece of copper pipe that's been sitting behind Home Depot for 12 months.

Are you seeing similiar differences in patina when your looking for other examples?

looks more like some kind of pipe collar

I once posted up a "gold miners" ring. Ended up being a candle holder handle.
Little bit embarrassing at the time. Slowly learning to ask people here before making a definite conclusion.

All my copper finds in the water, are under beach sand, and have no oxidization, or little to none. The land finds are HEAVILY hard mud caked and green. If you search my copper cache post, all of those finds were found where this ring was found.

Those are surface digs with the green patina. Water finds have barely any oxidization. Some do, all depends on how long they were exposed to the elements. I have an amazing copper artifact collection, that would make your jaw drop, so i know a copper artifact when’s i see one. This is 100% a copper artifact, found amongst my other finds.

Here is a photo of some of my artifacts. Found where I found that ring. 92615A5F-6EC5-4580-982D-A99FE13E832B.jpeg

I know next to nothing about the copper culture, if I found those I would be thinking trade era what says they are copper culture over trade items?

Very interesting finds. I still find the uneven patina odd (given the potential age) but it appears you have provenance on your side in this case.

Have you spoken to any experts yet?

Tattoomagoo- Larry Furo and Robin Hammer Mueller have an awesome page on Facebook entitled, "Old Copper Complex and Ancient Waterways America", which is a forum for OCC relics. It is very informative and includes many members who are experts on the Copper Culture. They helped me when I was trying to find a lab that would source some copper I have found. There are very few stone lithics on the page, unless they were found in conjunction with copper. In any case, it is very informative and they can probably give you a very precise take on the ring.
