I found this in my backyard yesterday while just playing around. Didn't even have my headphones on. :laughing7: My house isn't too old, built in 1960 in a sub-division in IL.
The coin is just slightly larger than a quarter, a bit thinner and is copper. I scratched the edge
to confirm this. In the first pic you can see a bust facing right and appears to be female. The coin has a series of dots around the perimeter. The back or 2nd pic is rotated slightly to the left and has
a large #2 at the bottom. Some type of rays or design in the middle and a capital C and E to the
upper right where there is no corrosion.

Wow, I'm happy to see this solved, but shocked about the condition for the age. Must be more of a Zinc composition
than a copper. Thought it may have been my oldest yet.

Thanks for time invested IP to ID it !

It's looks like salt water or some chemical got it.... pretty bad indeed for a modern coin.

The only time it took me was to search and upload a pic because I knew it was Queen Elizabeth and could see the 2 on the reverse.
