Found a cool way to clean coppers the other day. Might be old news to some.
You know those old wheats that you cant get a date on and are covered in green oxidant?
Just get a plastic cup and throw the coin in there. Put about a teaspoon of salt and then dump 2 or 3 ounces of
lemon juice in.
Wait four days and the patina will flake off into the solution.
The copper will be free of the patina and easy to read a date on it.
No need to scrub with a brush at all.
Sorry the pics aren't clearer.
Need a new camera!
P.S. If it is a valuable coin I would seek professional advice before any cleaning. I use this to clean the junkers.
