Here's one for you guys. This is about the size of a quarter,it's made of copper. On the front it has the letter B at the top with castle towers under it.The tower in the middle just below the B looks like a chess rook, the 2 castles on either side of it kindaa look the same only a little thinner. The back is plain except for the center. It has a small tit sticking out as if there was a pin or post attached at one time or another. It has disintegrated away almost completely. Here's the pics.

:P Hey dont pass it off as not being a button. I've found some that were bigger than that. Don't ask why they would make them so big but my feeling is that it is a button.

Looks like a real old flat type of button to me. Early 1800's maybe even 1700's. I can tell by the circular patterns on the back and the broken off shank tip. Could you clean the back somemore and look for a co. That would help more. Looks british not american to me.

It's been a while on this one,I know.Army Corp.of Engineers is right on with the logo. The castle "towers" are connected.Does anyone know what the B stands for?

It's a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers collar disk, and "B" is the company letter. This particular version was introduced around 1910.

Thanks PBK and downindixie and everyone else who contributed. :) So, it's possible it was lost down here, back when they (A.C.E.) decided to drain the Everglades. This was found in the woods, near one of the canals going from Okeechobee to the Atlantic.
