Met with Burdie this morning at the oil ghost town. We got out for about 5 hr and checked several areas but we both pretty much got skunked except for some brass valves and a couple of bottles. We enjoyed ourselves though and had a good time. The wind was whipping us something fierce and the temp was mid 60's. We've ID'd a few camp areas to check out later.
After we said our goodbyes, I headed back to town but had that urge to go back to the Buyout Area. I can't explain the feeling, just like was drawn back for some reason and since I still had a couple hours of daylight left I figured to make the most of it.

I was able to pull in a few good signals as you can see:

Wheaties: 1920D and 1927D
Local token: McCraken Dairy Farm-Good for 1/2 Pint of Cream Ponca City Okla.
Tag; Ted with a local phone number prefix no longer being used and the town name

civil, I don't recognize the dog and there is no year on the reverse but the prefix was normally RG2 and not PH2 and went out in the 50's. There is some writing at the bottom on the reverse "F_ _ DME THIS" and the rest is under the fold. It's pressed down too tight to unbend w/o damage.

Stoney I think that might be an Identification tag for a Sooner not a dog tag. He He. Burdie
PS Just kidding Sooner fans !!!

Tokens are wonderful and unusal finds. ?At first glance I thought the dog was actually a rabbit, cute dog tag though. lol ? Congrats on the finds. ?:) ?

Neat finds today stoney!!!!

When I was a wee little lass I remember going downtown on rare occasions (Birmingham) and there was this really big billboard at the top of a bridge...1st Avenue North I believe it was...anyhow....there was a dog on the billboard and it was mechanical. Its tail would move back and forth and its tongue too....I remember thinking how cool that was! LOL! I think it was an ad for Jim Dandy dog food.

Congrats on your finds... ;)
